Kanex is a little unknown USB device company. You never know what they’re going to come out with next, but not matter what it is it’s always known to be pretty perfect at filling the niche it was intended for. Their latest creation, the USB SimpleDock is a simple and elegant 3-in-1 docking station meant for portable systems which make use of USB 3.0 ports.
The Kanex SimpleDock is made from zinc alloy and rubber clad dock. All you need to do is plug in a micro USB 3.0 cable from the dock to your desktop or laptop computer. By doing this, your laptop computer will now have three additional USB 3.0 ports as well as an additional Gigabit Ethernet port. Such abilities are par for the course for any regular old docking station, except this one adds in one additional ability: USB charging. By including a dedicated 10W charging USB port and integrated shelf, the SimpleDock can do double duty as a speedy charger for smartphones and tablets alike. Add in an integrated cable management channels in the underside and the SimpleDock works as good as it looks. Thankfully it does not cost as much as it probably should, and this horizontally oriented docking station will cost you $119 with free shipping direct from the manufacturer.
